Special Tours
We understand that some people would want to visit Winchester and see the places described in 'The Winchester Treasure' (TWT). There are a number of ways of doing this and we suggest that you contact the Tourist Information Centre in Winchester (see the Links page).
Walking tours of Winchester, taken by trained Blue Badge Guides, will normally cover all the sites in TWT. However, if the demand is there we will arrange special themed walks which will definitely cover all the sites. These are planned for the first Saturday of each month and various of the Bank Holidays. They will start at 10 a.m. from outside the Great Hall. The cost will be £5 per adult and £3 per child over 5 and under 14. The fee is paid to the guide in cash at the start of the tour. We do not include the interior of Winchester Cathedral in this tour and you should note that there is now an admission charge for the Cathedral should you wish to visit.
For safety reasons numbers taken by a guide have to be limited and we need to know in advance if you wish to come. Therefore, please fill in the form below AT LEAST 2 DAYS beforehand. If we don't receive enough bookings for a particular day then we won't arrange for a guide to be there.
The next expected tour dates in 2006 are: Saturday 1st April, Monday 17th April (Easter Monday), Saturday 6th May. Check back here or 'News' for changes.
